Supporting the government of Armenia with institutional reform and restructuring of the Armenian forest sector, UTT in collaboration with the Ministry of Nature Protection, defined, clarified, and enhanced the role and functions of the Forest Research and Experimental Training Center.

The project included preparing management and marketing plans, conducting outreach, developing forest inventory measurement reporting and verification curriculum, assisting in national poverty reduction policy and national forest strategy development, preparing a program implementation plan, and monitoring program for the Zikatar Regional Forestry Training Center designed to align the current management plan with the national policies.
